The Grand Opening of the Methow Valley Authors Library took place on Sunday, April 14, from 11 AM – 4 PM at Casia Lodge.

In this unprecedented celebration of the Methow Valley literary scene, over 30 local writers were on hand to mark the opening of the Methow Valley Authors Library, a collection of books and journals from every author who has ever lived in, worked in, or wrote about the valley. The program of events included book signings plus author readings every 20 minutes.

The Methow Valley Authors Library itself will be open as a browsing library any time the pub is open. Over 300 volumes from over 120 contributing authors are already included in the collection, with acquisition of rare titles (and the full 28 years of The Methow Naturalist) supported by sponsorships from MethowArts and The Confluence. Other titles have been donated by The Shafer Museum, and hundreds of other titles will be added over the coming year.
