  • Methow Authors Festival

    April 5, 2025  12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Casia Lodge and Ranch, 20556 State Rte 20, Twisp, WA 98856, USA

Casia Lodge plays host to a second annual celebration of the Methow Valley literary scene. Over 30 local writers will once again be on hand to share works contained in the Methow Valley Authors Library, a collection of books and journals from every author who has ever lived in, worked in, or wrote about the valley.

Book creators of all genres—fiction, nonfiction, photos, and poetry—will be on hand to greet their fans and the general public in the lodge’s Cascade Room, with many titles available for purchase and signing. The lodge also hosts a program of fireside readings at 20- to 30-minute intervals throughout each afternoon from noon to 5 PM, while Casia’s pub will begin its happy hour service at 1 PM.

This year’s lineup opens with a presentation by Nicole Ringgold, who published her first book, The New Silversmith, last spring as a collaborative work with her daughter, Cymone Van Marter. For the fair’s closing act, Lynette Westendorf returns to the Methow for an encore performance of Meditations: One World, a piano suite with accompanying poetry composed by Cindy Williams Gutiérrez and Greg Wright. Ringgold speaks at noon on Saturday, April 5, while Meditations runs at 3:40 PM on Sunday, April 6.

The balance of the program includes readings and presentations by John Doran, Cindy Button, E. Richard Hart, Shannon Huffman Polson, Melissa Arnot, Marian Exall, Deb Kalmbach, Subhaga Crystal Bacon, Sierra Golden, Abbie Miller, and many others.
